Inaugural meeting: TRUFA Decolonization, Reconciliation & Indigenization Ad Hoc Committee

The inaugural meeting of the TRUFA Decolonization, Reconciliation & Indigenization Ad Hoc Committee was a great success.  Thirty-three people, including First Nations Elders, Administrators, Faculty, Lecturers, Students and Staff members from Open Learning, Psychology, Nursing, HUMS, School of Education, FESW, PHP/Arts, School District, Shuswap Nation Tribal Council, Gathering House, Aboriginal Affairs attended and their contributions to the first meeting are greatly appreciated.  The committee is grateful to Garry Gottfriedson (Secwepemc Nation) who provided a welcome to the unceded and occupied territory of the Secwpemc people, and a closing song for the meeting, and to Elder Estella Patrick Moller (Carrier Nation) who offered the opening prayer, and to Elder Doreen Kenoras (Secwepemc) who provided good food and drinks.

For those who were unable to attend, the notes from the meeting will be posted here, as soon as they are available. You will also find meeting minutes and packages related to the Provincial FPSE Decolonization, Reconciliation and Indigenization Committee in the same location.

The next meeting of the DRI Committee will happen in the same meeting space, HOL first floor, on Friday April 20, 2018 from 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM. All are welcome.
